Whimsical English Country Garden stuff

This entry is dedicated to Shabbychic Mom, Whimsical Val and Fabmom and to my dear silent readers who are also into this. This showcase was held at Citymall and ended last Sunday. This is a teaser of more to come, the owner is a local lass who works as a stewardess (I think) and will be back in KK time and again. Soonest If any of you would like to have a personal viewing, you can visit her home where she keeps all this stuff.

I would love it if it's natural wooden colour. A bit cold for my liking but love the design though.

By the way sis, wish you & family Happy Eid Al-Fitr.

Hi Val Aziz, love the beautiful furniture, except prefer in wood colour. Puteh ada lecheh sikit.
I love wooden furniture, adds warmth to a house. But will take a pass at Idomo or Ikea ones. Prefer more the old designs.

Read your kedai potong rambut cherita...ha ha, love it. Yes, I remember these 'Ah Pek' shops.
Funny enough, no Chinese man or barber girl past or present has ever touched my hair. Indian's yes, in my mature years. Young days till past my late 20's Malays.

I remember in my teens, used to have my hair cut at Malay Street in KL, and there would be a string of Malay barbers, and all with single high wooden chairs, one single mirror hanging either on a tree branch or post. Nice scenery too...the Gombak river infront.

And there with traffic wheeezing by behind us, get my hair trimmed. On and off swiping a bee. Sometimes even 'blessed' by bird droppings, ha ha.

My barber was my regular, "ahhhh Lee, amacham? Sama juga? Elvis ke, atau nak lain style"? Ha ha.

Or he would take out an old dog leafed Malay movie news, or I bring mine, show a pic of an actor..."nak Ricky Nelson ini sekali". Ha ha.
Didn't go for the P. Ramli look, ha ha. Price? Rgt 1.00. Include neck cracking, "jaga baik jangan putus leher saya, huh"! And sometimes even back massage. All for Rgt 1.00.

He on the side would sell Indonesian 'obat Jamu'....and being a busy body as well business minded, even helped him to sell, getting commission. Sold to my mom those slimming ones.

Imagined yours truly selling 'obat Jamu' to my Malay friends parents...from 'prevention of hair loss, slimming, 'badan chantek dan tegak, to other, ahemmm, supposedly very potent stuff for men as well women.
Still remember I did quite well with 'Kasip Fatima', ha ha. (Sold to men that)

The fun and laughter I had with my friend's pak chiks and makchiks were really hilarious when I take my samples out from a small canvass bag....trying to sell to Nenek the 'kasip Fatima', arhaaa ha ha.
But hey...would earn easy Rgt 10 a week sometimes.

Sure miss those good old days, you have a great week, Lee.
