I received a news this morning. It's good news but also I'm dumbfounded to the state of numbness. Blur now. How do I go through 2 weeks? I just can't think right now. This demands so much from me as a wife and mother..and it's definitely going to inconvenient other family members as well. I hope they can bear with us. I know today my body and mind will not be one.

Best Medicine..
(A True Story)
This would have to be one of the best emails I've ever read....
For anyone who didn't see the episode of David Letterman's show where this story was told, read this: (And remember it's a true story...)
On a recent weekend in Atlantic City , a woman won a bucketful of quarters at a slot machine.
She took a break from the slots for dinner with her husband in the hotel dining room.
But first she wanted to stash the quarters in her room.
'I'll be right back and we'll go to eat' she told her husband and carried the coin-laden bucket to the elevator.
As she was about to walk into the elevator she noticed two men already aboard.
Both were black. One of them was very tall and had an intimidating figure.
The woman froze. Her first thought was: 'These two are going to rob me.'
Her next thought was: 'Don't be a bigot; they look like perfectly nice gentlemen.' But racial stereotypes are powerful, and fear immobilized her.
Avoiding eye contact, she turned around stiffly and faced the elevator doors as they closed.
A second passed, and then another second, and then another.
Her fear increased!
The elevator didn't move.
Panic consumed her.
'My God' she thought, I'm trapped and about to be robbed!
Her heart plummeted...
Perspiration poured from every pore.
Then one of the men said, 'Hit the floor.'
Instinct told her to do what they told her.
The bucket of quarters flew upwards as she threw out her arms and collapsed on the elevator floor. A shower of coins rained down on her.
'Take my money and spare me', she prayed.
More seconds passed.
She heard one of the men say politely, 'Ma'am, if you'll just tell us what floor you're going to, we'll push the button.'
The one who said it had a little trouble getting the words out.
He was trying mightily to hold in a belly laugh.
The woman lifted her head and looked up at the two men.
They reached down to help her up.
Confused, she struggled to her feet. 'When I told my friend here to hit the floor,' said the average sized one, 'I meant that he should hit the elevator button for our floor. I didn't mean for you to hit the floor, ma'am.'
He spoke genially.
He bit his lip.
It was obvious he was having a hard time not laughing.
The woman thought: 'My God, what a spectacle I've made of myself.'
She was too humiliated to speak.
The three of them gathered up the strewn quarters and refilled her bucket.
When the elevator arrived at her floor they then insisted on walking her to her room...
She seemed a little unsteady on her feet, and they were afraid she might not make it down the corridor.
At her door they bid her a good evening.
As she slipped into her room she could hear them roaring with laughter as they walked back to the elevator.
The woman brushed herself off. She pulled herself together and went downstairs for dinner with her husband.
The next morning flowers were delivered to her room; a dozen roses.
Attached to EACH rose was a crisp one hundred-dollar bill.
The card said: 'Thanks for the best laugh we've had in years.'
It was signed: Eddie Murphy & Michael Jordan .

My loooooong lost friend..
It's another birthday surprise for me (although my long lost friend forgot about it)..almost jumped for joy wen I received an email from my good friend from ITM days..thank God for Google eh? As if I never Googled him but he's just unGoogleable. Syed Muhd. Muhafzal stumbled upon me in the year 1996 when both of us were being inducted in the School of Hospitality & Tourism, ITM Shah Alam. He was of course the favourite boy among the seniors to pick on. So one sweet day in the lecture room, the seniors asked me to point out the most good looking guy in the room and I was too shy to look at everyone so the easiest target was hahaha his truly lah. His face was exasperated and he actually mouthed "Why Me?" to me muahahaha. But it backfired on me because I was called to the front of the class with him and we were asked to act out a scene on an imginary motorbike and I was supposed to be the passenger..AND were had to wear real helmets but "terbalik" (i think it was the half helmet style)..so imagine how dorky and stupid we looked like PLUS we had to make the motor sound (thinking about it now, i feel like punching the seniors la). So from that moment we clicked I guess. Then he got real lucky to get a scholarship to study n Japan (till now i still dono wat he studied there) and then cont. to work there, and now he's back in KL.
He was the "budak CTO" (cert. of Tourim Operation) and I was the "budak DTM" (Dip. in Tourism Mgmt)..he was the guy who made the hall ways so noisy with his antiques and jokes and group of friends who were as much fun as he was. Samad, Ogy and Linda. We got closer and hang out once in awhile when i was not bz with my group of friends and romantic interest of the moment heheh..
So last Sunday we finally met again after 8 years when he set foot in my homeland with his GF Marilyn..we have so much to catch up on and to talk about but not enuf time lah..so I foresee more series of catching up session in the future la kan Afzal? Benjy warmed up to him immediately.
Okay..my Saturday. Spent walking like a zombie because I only slept for 2 hours..Ariff had a freak fever and was restless and woke up almost every half hour. But kesian my hubby and Benjy was so bored at home so just dragged my feet lah. Wanted to watch movie but timing not ngam so Benjy wanted to "play" some video games at the arcade (tapi kaki cannot sampai pedal).
I still have the bracelet that hubby gave me once upon a time in 1995 (we were a couple for a few months after high school heheh). He brougt me to this lake in Tmn. Tun Fuad and gave me this with our initials. Still keep it and I showed it to him on my birthday..he tak percaya after all these years I still have it.
This pic was taken while waiting for me to change hahaha takde keja la ni..

Pick up lines..
Heck I had my fair share of pick up lines those days..and it never failed to amuse me. Of course any girl would feel flattered to have cause a man to want to knock her off her feet..but I'd normally end up picking up my other girlfriends from falling off their feet puking in the loo and walking out of the clubs. The adventures I had and friends I've met during my peak party animal days..they're priceless.
I like this pick up line courtesy of U.Lee's blog.
A new watch:
A rather confident man walks into a bar and takes a seat next to a very attractive woman. He gives her a quick glance, then casually looks at his watch for a moment.
The woman notices this and asks, "Is your date running late?"
"No", he replies, "I just bought this state-of-the-art watch and I was just testing it."
The intrigued woman says, "A state-of-the-art watch? What's so special about it?"
"It uses alpha waves to telepathically talk to me," he explains.
"Oh really? What's it telling you now?" she inquires.
"Well, it says you're not wearing anything underneath your dress..."
The woman giggles and replies, "Well, it must be broken then, because I am".
And the man starts tapping on the watch face and says, "Damn thing must be an hour fast."
Pick up line #2
Man: You must be really tired.
Girl: Yes, how do you know?
Man: Cause you've been running in my mind the whole day.
Pick line #3
Man: Do you know who is the greatest painter of all?
Girl: No. Who?
Man: God.
Girl: Why do you said that?
Man: Cause he painted you.
Pick up line #4
Group of guys: Cerah ceria si Merah Jambu. Siapa namanya si Gadis ayu?
Me (in my pink baju kurung walking across Central Market): Nose up, walk straight, walk faster...
Doi!!! Punyalah! #2 & #3 are them most common la..and most cheezy. Cannot layan la these people, seriously. No imagination and creativity at all. But I love to hear them try. Hilarious. If only they'd take some tips and lessons from U.Lee.

My Birthday part 2
So last nite hubby treated the birthday girl high tea at Dome Cafe. Benjy tagged along. After that went to watch X-Files: I Want To Believe (this is another story to tell) then dinner at Penang Village. Didn't want a birtday cake..don't feel like blowing out candles lah.
(p/s: Yanti rambut si Benjy sumpak bukan I yg gunting ah *wink*)
The movie was good but.....so many interuption in between. Benjy wanted to poo lah, then his leg got stuck in between the chairs lah, then he gagged (choked on his fries), plus asking me at every scene the neverending "Why" questions..*sigh* I need to watch this movie again cos I've missed a few scenes..Mulder is fat in here. Btw..I was really annoyed when the attendant at GSC 1 Borneo stopped me from bringing my extra large Florentyne biscuit into the cinema hall..NO OUTSIDE FOOD ALLOWED he said but it was only a measly biscuit..but he wouldn't make any exception and I was really provoked by the way he talked to me..very kurang ajar ok..that tone..he said you either eat it now or put it in their container outside the hall and pick it up later. Yerrr!!!!!!! Geram to the max ok.
While waiting for our food at Penang Village, hubby suddenly insisted to buy a cake eventhough I said I don't want a cake. He took too long to buy a single cake so I wonder what he was up to. Then he came back grinning from ear to ear bringing a plastic bag. I couldn't wait till home so opened it in the car...twas the Crocs ballerina's shoe that I always wanted! So comfy and it's an essential for the shopping marathon that we'll be doing in the near future. I received another gift from dear Shanie; really nice cucuk sanggul and black leggings..something that I wanted to get but somehow belum beli lagi.
Shabbymom..this was wat I bought during my Bus Trip to 1 Borneo last weekend. The free gift was a bag hanger (dono wat they call it) perfect to hang your evening bag on the dinner table. No more putting my bag on the floor/under the table/behind the chair,on my lap etc..

Casual yet elegant and sophisticated..
What a mother of 3 boys needs to know..
This morning Benjy asked me as I was dressing him for school.."Mummy how do I fight Barricade when I'm Bumblebee?"
Answer: "U pick up a tree or other cars and throw it Barricade then you shoot him with your gun"
Reply: "Ya kan Mummy good idea"
I hate video games (with the exception of certain puzzle games). But I must learn how to give answers like this to my boys ;-) I've watched Transformers the movie more than 20 times..and sit by my boys while they play their PS2 for the umphteenth time..i think i can be considered an expert in Transformers already.
Hey Whimsical Val!
This one is for you..I immediately thought of you the minute I saw this. Quite similar to your Ralph Lauren Mary Jane Classic Pumps wishlist kan? It's at Charles & Keith 1 Borneo. Cheap only..if I'm not mistaken just RM139.00. But definitely not as soft as the genuine leather of the original. This one's a bit shiny sort of patent leather and a bit too "hard" for comfort wear. If you do buy this one, make sure you bite it first ah..before it bites you heheheh.

A walk by the beach..unexpectedly.
Saturday, we went to 1Borneo on board their free shuttle bus. Parked our car at STAR and the kids were so excited on this bus trip. Ariff was at the nursery. We arrived right the 1Borneo doorstep.
Benjy showing his bus voucher. The concierge gave us vouchers to board the bus. The air-con was very cold lah. And a nice touch was the seat was reclinable, much like those in the plane.
Nabil mengelamun. This was on the way back and it was raining.
Our adventure starts here. OUR BUS BROKE DOWN! Right in front of the Kinabalu Yacht Club, almost reaching our destination. Something to do with the bus's "angin" that the steering wheel could not respond. The weather was not promising at all, it just stopped drizzling but the cloud looked very heavy and dark. It was 5.30pm and we have to pick up Ariff before 6pm. Decision..walk the rest of the way to STAR as we couldn't wait for the second bus to rescue the stranded passengers. Benjy was not happy to be woken up from his doze in the bus.
It was a nice walk actually, to the right is the beach, to our left was the beautiful beach houses. I grew up here in Tanjung Aru and Dad always take us on a joyride and we'd cruise by these houses and "book" our dream home. I still do this (quietly lah) everytime we drive along this road. Always bring back old memories. I used to live in Hone Place, the govt. housing quarters now demolished to make way for a public park. On weekends we'll drive or walk to the Tg. Aru beach. While waiting for my SPM result I worked part-time with a travel agent in STAR. So my childhood and adolescent years were spent here in Tanjung Aru. My "dream house" is still there. We took this pic of a new house under construction, eh no lah not new it's a full face lift renovation. It's really expansive almost sprawling, we thought it look like an exclusive Spa or something like that. This stretch has the best property value in the market i think..quiet, private and exclusive area with a beach front..next to a golf course and a 5-star resort as your neighbour.
We managed to reach Ariff just on time. We (hubby n I) enjoyed our unexpected but pleasant walk tremendously. The last time we had this kind of a leisurely stroll by the beach side was actually 7 years ago! That long. Not counting our Nexus escapade with the kids coz we didn't walk along the beach, we just played in it. Hmmm note to self..must do this again soon with our 3 kids hahah..

Sungkai!
Was fasting yesterday..sunat Rejab..(I know I'll be getting lots of raised eyebrows hehe)..Came 3pm I was browsing other blogs in search of food..so I dug into the archives of Shabbymom's n Sharon's to look for Anjappar's menu. I was salivating already just by looking at the pics. So I dragged hubby n the kids to Anjappar but before we reached there had 3 detours and I was on my wits end already menahan sabarrr...my mantra was sabarrr..keep smiling..(a hungry woman makes an angry woman *wink*). I memorised the dishes that was recommended in the above mentioned blogs.
So once seated and without any hesitation I blurted the orders.
1) Gobi 65
2) Palak Paneer
3) Chicken Tandoori (hubby's)
4) Lamb Masala
5) Poppadum
6) Chicken Lollipop (kid's)
7) Garlic and Cheese Naan
8) Briyani Rice
9) Mango Lassi
10) Falooda
11) Lime Juice
*burp*
Benjy didn't like the food..he takes after my Chinese side..suka minum sup n kaifan. The 1st thing he said wen we entered was "Smelly oh this place Mummy" heheh i think he didn't like the smell of jasmine or watever it is they used to "perfume" the place. Even the ayam goreng lollipop he complained was spicy. Nabil enjoyed the food..ini memang his father's son lah ni..Pakistan. Ariff enjoyed his Naan bits.
Most important of all me n hubby love the food. Not to mention the speed of lightning service! We'll definitely be back to try more food here.
Hmm wat shall I sungkai today???? Ahah! goreng buah sukun with honey.

“The rules of the game get posted at the beginning.
Each player answers the questions about themselves.
At the end of the post, the player then tags 5 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know they’ve been tagged.
Let the person who tagged you know when you’ve posted your answer.”

"Sayalah kontraktor paling hebat di KK"
This is what the contractor said to my brother recently..cakap punya besar tapi tidak pandai kerja. His work was only to change our gutter n down pipes and mend the roof. He teared off our old gutter last 2 weeks and only began to put up new ones last Friday..bollocks. And during those 2 weeks waiting he left the scaffolding behind our house still standing..kalau ada pencuri masuk i'll put the blame on him. He promised us that by Sunday everything will be completed. Surprise surprise..he told us last Saturday, he ordered 14 gutters but only 10 came and he miscalculated the measurement? How can u call urself a contractor? Sakitnya hati! But wait..ada lagi cerita.
Last Friday, they started work. They used our elect. outlet to drill (or burr) the cement pavement, fine. When we came home after work, they were also about to leave but our lawn was in a mess with sharp rusty metal and nails strewn all over and also at the car porch. Apalagi naik marahlah laki beta. Safety hazard. Belum lagi sampah and cigarette buts the chapkung buang di merata tempat. I called the contractor to get his men to come back n clean up he said ok but they never came (not surpised). So the next day, we did not let the workers in until their "boss" comes, so when he came apalagi my hubby bawa dia pusing keliling rumah n gosok lah.
(The hammer was left on the roof)
(They hanged their dirty underwear here!!!)
(This is totally unforgivable, they broke their cable and left without telling us about it, wires exposed and the switch was still on when I found it. Pls excuse the un-photogenic mop)
(Left the ladder leaning against the house leading to the upper window)
(Their rubbish in mum's flower bed)
To make matters worse..on Saturday..they burst our underground pipe. And the best thing is, this fella can say that the next door's workers "tak pandai kerja" (new neighbour doing some renovation work). Geramnya!!!! He is taking advantage of my Mum and all of us..he thinks that we are stupid? Tunggu my hubby today jadi mandur..all this while he kept quiet and observe. If our pipes are not settled by today then Mr Contractor, u're definitely gonna get it from him n Madame of the house.
