This band is called Apu from west malaysia. Macam Earth wind and Fire of Malaysia.
Andy Peterson one of the sessionists playing bass..Amir Yussof!!!! guys he's staying in KK for 1 year...Safarina and I dancing away...Aaron Leonce taiko tai, I feel so tiny.Jazz Festival @ 1 Borneo...superb performances by local and internationaly known artites and sessionists. Initially we wanted to purchase the RM50 tickets but when we saw that the venue was right in the middle of the concourse, shaded only by flimsy streamers and other people can watch the concert from the railings..we thought it's not worth it lah..we watch from the sides for awhile..then off to dinner at Dome..business meeting with our client from Phuket and Hong Kong (event coming up)..then went back to enjoy the final performance by Apu. Damn they are good..we had a blast of a time partying and dancing in front of the stage (our Mayor and Hj. Zainie Aucasa with their wives also joined in)..as if we were not in a shopping mall. By 11.45 the show still was not showing any signs of ending but we had to make a move already..two thumbs up for Apu! We want to see you back in KK and hopefully it will be us to bring you the next time...our verdict for this event..
the venue is totally off. The mood just wasn't there because performing jazz U really (i mean the artiste and also the audience) need to layan the feel of the music.. and if u're playing to a complacent crowd (there were no crowd i could say, just people coming and going) U will not get the satisfaction of performing..and too bad Apu as the finale performance which was the most happening had only the leftovers of the crowd to entertain but luckily they were really sporting and opened up the dance floor. As for the organisers, I bet they couldn't maximise ticket sales. Better venue next year please.

yep, val. i agree with you. the venue betul2 tidak sesuai, the place should be more 'exclusive' and since you are paying for the ticket, i shall say that 'privacy' is also the main concern to enhance the jazzy mood.
some of the people there didnt even appreciate jazz music, e.g: the pilaks.(i earvesdropped this couple cakap " siapa bah diorang tu, tidak famous pun org bayar ticket to watch them menyanyi)
i was there (just passing by dari grocery shopping) and Mirza and i were dancing to the music. orang fikir kami gila...hehehhe
Haiyaa...I gave my Jazz tickets to ah che. I hope she went. Boss bilang paling siok. Safarina Wasli kah tu? Met her yesterday at Tamparuli. Will blog about that later. Banyak mau update but so little time to do. Damn!
Siok bah..not only for those yg appreciate jazz..especially perfomance by Apu tu HAPPENING oh!!! teenagers n org tua pun dance along wit them..yg in the middle performance i missed sbb p mkn..

mmm.. i like Amir Yusuf... he was famous masa they sang.. 'jauh'.. aik dont remember the song oh.. the one they sang with sheila majid..aflin shauki..etc.. nice.. send my regard to him..che
yup he was with Roslan Aziz Productions few years back. u can tell him personally when u bumped into him di gaya street ka mana ka heehe..I forgot to ask which area he's staying in lah ish.
