Not much extra curricular activity for us last weekend..no pics as well..Saturday is a day where we will not be at home..mesti go jalan-jalan..so we checked out the Sutera Harbour "open day" at Warisan Square. Signed up for their F&B membership, ate some of their foc canapes and chocolates, then off to 1 Borneo. Initially we wanted to ride in the Hot Air Balloon but we saw the cloud formation was not promising and to get a ride means you must make any purcase in 1 Borneo for at least RM300 or sign up for their Platinum Membership Card. We never even caught a glimpse of the Hot Air Balloon??? Apparently the Balloon ride has been going on for 1 week. Have any1 of you seen it? The Balloon was brought here all the way from Australia together with their experts..last Sunday was their last day. But I didn't see much campaign about it, have you? I think the promos following the soft launching of 1 Borneo is not that successful, I expect more "noise" and fanfare.
Bronz Music was called to propose / quote for their Beauty & Wellness Fair, Fashion Extravaganza and Cookery Fair. Wah..the requests and the expectation we were given the impression that it will be a grand affair..ie; to create booths design similar to Guerlain fashion booth, to bring in celebrity chefs Nigella/Anthony Bourdain/Anita Sarawak etc, celebrity emcee Daphne Iking, Constantine Anthony, to install carpeting on all the event venues (yg sederhana tebal and ada patterns), stage, sound system n lighting..etc..this they gave us a duration of 1 month before the launch date..then finally they told us unceremoniously that they decided to appoint a company from KL! so came the day what we saw at 1 Borneo was a far cry from the initial demand and planning hahah. Well obladi oblada..business politics..we can do a better job..so on we go merayau2 at 1 Borneo mendulur kehendak anak mau makan Pizza Hut (punya sejuuuk thier air-con), go to Boo Boo Land (I used the age old excuse to hubby that i wanted to go the loo but i actually went express shopping !! heheheh).
Sunday was hectic for me as hubby terlentang saja 1 hari sbb sakit kepala (hmm is that an age old excuse he used???)..so melepaslah my chance to try to cook Resoles *wink wink* ShabbyMom..sungguh penat my Sunday sampai I forgot to put Nabil's diaper on him at night..luckily he didn't leak *phew*..otherwise tambah lagi 1 kerja. No C.S.I marathon for me..I need my quality zzzzz..

Tremors
I was on the line commenting on the Jazz Festival with Mr. Koshy last Friday and we noted that the floors of 1 Borneo shook..more like a mild earthquake kinda tremor..this was when the crowd was dancing in front of the stage. It's not like the vibrations we sometimes felt (I've experienced at Centre Point, Karamunsing etc) but really shook. Anybody care to shed some light on to this? Mind you the crowd was not as many as you might see in clubs or discos..

Pregnancy Q & A for the clueless..
Q: Should I have a baby after 35?
A: No, 35 children is enough.
Q : I'm two months pregnant now. When will my baby move?
A: With any luck, right after he finishes college.
Q : What is the most reliable method to determine a baby's sex?
A: Childbirth.
Q: My wife is five months pregnant and so moody that sometimes she's borderline irrational.
A: So what's your question?
Q : My childbirth instructor says it's not pain I'll feel during labor, but pressure. Is she right?
A: Yes, in the same way that a tornado might be called an air current.
Q: When is the best time to get an epidural?
A: Right after you find out you're pregnant.
Q : Is there any reason I have to be in the delivery room while my wife is in labor?
A: Not unless the word "alimony" means anything to you.
Q: Is there anything I should avoid while recovering from childbirth?
A: Yes, pregnancy.
Q : Do I have to have a baby shower?
A: Not if you change the baby's diaper very quickly.
Q : Our baby was born last week. When will my wife begin to feel and act normal again?
A: When the kids are in college.
A: No, 35 children is enough.

Jazz Nite Out..
(This pic has nothing to do with the Jazz Festival..it is solely upon insistent request by pic owner with the message: "Say aye if u're not happy with the current trend of increasing fuel price hehehe")
This band is called Apu from west malaysia. Macam Earth wind and Fire of Malaysia.
Andy Peterson one of the sessionists playing bass..Amir Yussof!!!! guys he's staying in KK for 1 year...Safarina and I dancing away...Aaron Leonce taiko tai, I feel so tiny.
Jazz Festival @ 1 Borneo...superb performances by local and internationaly known artites and sessionists. Initially we wanted to purchase the RM50 tickets but when we saw that the venue was right in the middle of the concourse, shaded only by flimsy streamers and other people can watch the concert from the railings..we thought it's not worth it lah..we watch from the sides for awhile..then off to dinner at Dome..business meeting with our client from Phuket and Hong Kong (event coming up)..then went back to enjoy the final performance by Apu. Damn they are good..we had a blast of a time partying and dancing in front of the stage (our Mayor and Hj. Zainie Aucasa with their wives also joined in)..as if we were not in a shopping mall. By 11.45 the show still was not showing any signs of ending but we had to make a move already..two thumbs up for Apu! We want to see you back in KK and hopefully it will be us to bring you the next time...our verdict for this event..
the venue is totally off. The mood just wasn't there because performing jazz U really (i mean the artiste and also the audience) need to layan the feel of the music.. and if u're playing to a complacent crowd (there were no crowd i could say, just people coming and going) U will not get the satisfaction of performing..and too bad Apu as the finale performance which was the most happening had only the leftovers of the crowd to entertain but luckily they were really sporting and opened up the dance floor. As for the organisers, I bet they couldn't maximise ticket sales. Better venue next year please.

My Mama-in-Law's Birthday
19th June marks another milestone in my beloved M.I.L's life. She bore 4 handsome sons and 2 beautiful twins. The eldest one is damn lucky to marry me ;-) We last minutely planned a surprise dinner for Mak albeit a simple one but what a great we all had. My 3 sons were perfect amusement and as usual before the bday song ended they blew out the candles. I ordered 2 cakes from Uncle Biscuit because they only had 1/2 kg cakes, so I took 1 Yam cake and a Choc Walnut Cheese cake. After makan-makan the brothers had a jamming session and Mak sang..my kids were running around like nobody's biznes. Benjy and Nabil drew their Maktok's face on the bday card and Ariff left his footprint on it. Hopefully Mak liked the gift I chose for her. Mak I am a great admire of you..I'm still at awe and wonder where you get all your energy. Thank you for bringing your son into this world..Happy Birthday Mak.
Si Nabil got a gift from Maktok..he refused to take it off and slept in it, he went to school in it too!
Kesian the neighbours..had to bear with my boys banging on the drums..

A-Sutra Batik Fashion Show
Venue: Shangri-La's Tg. Aru Resort
Date: 18th June 2008
G.O.H: Seri Paduka Baginda Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Nur Zahirah
Owner: Ashniza Saidun
Boutique location: Warisan Square & 1 Borneo
It was a granduous affair..lots of soft pink flowy fabrics, luscious roses, spider lilies, chiffons, and genteel feminine atmosphere. Guests were clients of A-Sutra boutique and spotted in the front row of the catwalk were Radzwan Radziwill and several other distinguised looking designers that I don't recognise. The high-table set up was what I have been fantasizing for, it looked like straight out of Martha Stewart Weddings / David Tuttera. And the blooms were shipped from Istana Negara so I was told..reminds me of Preston Bailey. The stage/catwalk was designed by Kamarsutra. Emceed by Mr. Gan Poh Tiau. Official magazine was GLAM. Doorgift sponsored by Colourland so in our goody bags were GLAM mag and a Professional Make-up shimmering Blusher by Colourland and an embroidered organza pouch. Yours truly was trigger happy clicking the so unprofessional digi cam most of the time. At the ballroom foyer were displays of exquisite accessories hand crafted by A-Sutra, delicate materials, beautiful ready made creations of dresses and baju kurungs.
I don't know how to describe how I felt but I guess once u've seen these pics u will know what went on in my head that night.
And after the show, a cocktail reception under a snowy-like tent in the garden.
I wanted to take more food pics but it was gone before I can click on it. Hey people were starving by 9.40pm..canapes were quite nice but I just couldn't swallow the goat cheese and smoked salmon quiche..desserts were simply devine chocolate mousse with raspberry jam especially. Check out the Queen's menu. The Royalties and elites were sat on the high table.
(Ashnita and I)
Congratulations to Ashniza and Ashnita.
3-in-1 for Whimsy
This is dedicated to Whimsy Val who was with me during my baju kurung fitting with amazing Emily this afternoon. Ideas were flashing..that the baju kurung blouse can also be worn as something else..this design is courtesy of Shirley of beautiza.blogspot.com who is a make up artist and fashion designer. Lifestyle changing...the humble baju kurung is now transformed into elegant dresses..purpose is to maximise the wear in each of ur clothes, jimat kah tu???

Changing our living habit??
Yesterday I had a lunch date with Azlina Abd. Jalil a.k.a Linut..she's one of the women that I admire. Not only she's highly intelligent (Engineer, MA lagi) but she has the strength to quit her lecturing job in UMS to concentrate on her daughter. And now she's also an entreprenuer or W.A.H.M. She owns the francise for CoffeeNews in Malaysia and she's into Agel as well.
What brought me to meet her is the ever increasing cost of living and the never increasing remuneration rate. At the rate that I am surviving now with our current lifestyle..1 Borneo opening is no help at all..I need and want more income. PLain and simple. Yes frugality is very important and a wise act..but not if I can help it..why should i bow down to the insensitive suggestions / actions from the "Good" government and reduce my standard of living??? Not that I am living in indulgence and luxury, just nice for my family to enjoy a little bit more than simple pleasures in life. So in order to continue with what we are used to..a side income will definitely help. Anyway..I do have aspirations to own a biz in the future, why don't I start now.
The way I see it "makan gaji" group is the worst hit among us. Everyone is affected..businesses, retail, services etc... but with an extra effort they can still earn watever they want, sky is the limit. As for us who can only wait for a fixed monthly paycheck there's nothing much we can do but to cut down cut down cut down. I say don't cut down! We find more $$!
Reduce spending?? Does the PM knows how hard we have worked to reach this point? Being able to buy what our heart desire?? To provide our loved ones with what their heart desires?? To further studies?? To pay for good medical services? To live in a better home?? And their idea of a solution is change your living habits??? I bet he doens't feel the pinch. Why don't they change their spending habits and donate to us? Or the poor??
So Mr. PM..please don't tell us what to do when evidently you yourself do not know what to do.

Why the wedding ring should be put on the fourth finger??
I received an email from Gail recently and I find it really interesting..try it.
Thumb represents parents
Second finger represents brothers & sisters
Center finger represents own self
Fourth finger represents your partner
Last finger represents your children
Firstly, join your palms as shown in photo below, center finger bend and put together back to back
Secondly, let the rest of the 4 fingers touch tips to tip
Game begins, follow the instructions below for all the 5 fingers but only 1 pair can split.
1~ Try to open your thumb, the thumb represents parents, it can be opened because all human being do go thru sickness and death. Whoever may be, our parents will leave us one day.
2~ Please close up your thumb, Then open your second finger, this finger represents brothers and sisters, they do have their own family which is the reason that they will leave us too. Now close up your second finger,
3~ Open up your little finger, this represents your children. Sooner or later they too will leave us for they got they own living to live nevertheless, close up your little finger,
4~ Try to open your fourth finger in which we put our wedding ring; you will be surprised to find that it cannot be opened at all. Because it represents husband and wife, this whole life you will be attached to each other
Real love will stick together ever and forever. . .. ???..

I'm Tagged..by Fabmom
Not really sure how it goes..but here goes.
8 random facts about myself.
1) I fear live chicken..because my late granma used to tie live chicken in the bathroom before sending to the slayer, so when i had to use the bathroom they went MAD trying to fly all over the bathroom. PLus they look so bloody ugly.
2) I can't float standing (if u know what i mean), i can float on my back though.
3) I like racing..any kind of racing. I'm addicted to the adrenaline rush! Anything dealing with speed I love.
4) I've never climbed Mt. Kinabalu but i know a lot of people thought i have hahahah. I can tell u every detail of the climb. Sharon knows this for a fact, kan CPG! She have seen me in action..selling Mt. Climbing package.

6) I like horse-riding (I only wish i can ride)..maybe because I was born in the year of the Horse?? But they are such a beauty. Hubby and I actually went to a certain "Polo Club" in Luyang which we thought was an equestrian club of some sorts..but it was actually a "slots club" yeesh.
7) I ate bats. (medicinal purpose..supposedly athsma remedy..maybe it was the bats maybe it's something else I ate but my athsma is gone now)
8) I see dead people.....hahahaha just kidding..palis-palis. I can touch my nose with my toes..backwards.

84-year-old-bride
The local news station was interviewing an 84-year-old lady because she had just gotten married...for the fourth time. The interviewer asked her questions about her life, about what it felt like to be marrying again at 84, and then about her new husband's occupation. "He's a funeral director", she answered.
"Interesting", the newsman thought. He then asked her if she wouldn't mind telling him a little about her last three husbands and what they did for a living. She paused for a few moments, needing time to reflect on all those years.
After a short time, a smile came to her face and she smiled proudly, explaining that she first married a banker when she was in her early 20s, then a circus ringmaster when in her 40s, later on a preacher when in her 60s, and now in her 80s, a funeral director.
The interviewer looked at her, quite astonished, and asked why she married four men with such diverse careers.
"Easy son", she smiled.
"I married one for the money..two for the show..three to get ready..and four to go!
I thought this article is both funny and it shows that she was a really smart woman. For me, after seeing so many broken homes, a woman cannot be too careful in safeguarding her's and her offsprings's future. There are no guarantees whatsoever and want it or not, it is the harsh truth. In some instances it can be totally blamed on the other half, but sometimes it's just unfortunate circumstances that befall upon us. Whatever the reason, come what may a woman must be prepared to face it. Though every women wants to live in a fairytale, I think it is just irresposible to yourself and your dependants that you ignore these facts. Time and time again I am reminded whenever I see or heard sad news from people around me. Which made me make a resolution..and only me and my hubby knows. For love and respect of each other, only I pray that I won't see that day.

Sakitnya badanku....but whata great Saturday I had
It was a Saturday with a mission..a cupid mission. My good friend and hubby's good friend at Sutera marina's bowling alley. But before that the 5 of us anak beranak went yacht inspection...went on board Puteri Sutera, checked out 2 more yachts from a far because it started drizzling. We're thinking of organizing an event, something like an intimate sunset cruise with F&B while guests be entertained by our live band. That and I was thinking of organizing a Family Day for the office.
Charter rate: USD 3,500 for 6 hours, 1 main cabin, 2 smaller cabins, max. 12 pax..how i wish we were actualy cruising.
This son of mine was in his own world..the crew was so paranoid by my kids hahah..for Benjy it was like his own ship..buat jer macam bot sendiri.
Then went bowling..it was an amazing feat! I can't imagine we made it through 2 games with 3 boys on tow hahah. This is my friend Shahnida..very de sexy wohh.
After the game, off to Citimall kopitiam..by this time it was pouring already.
By the time we reached home my legs were aching already, and today satu badan sengal daa..nevertheless I'm satisfied as our mission was accomplished. Now just let nature take its due course.
