Ramblings

Recently hubby's external hard drive went kaput. And in it was the one and only video of yours truly giving birth to baby Ariff. So I can't pester him enuf to get it fixed or somehow save the video from being lost forever. Thank God he had a copy saved in another drive and we watched it again. It's just amazing to see the baby being taken out of my tummy and seeing the whole process of my own delivery. It was a c-sec procedure and I would not even consider getting the epidural..just gas me out of oblivion please. I cannot endure another epidural birth..it will freak me out of the anaesthetic. I can feel every single invasion they did to my body! The tugging and scratching on my skin as they began to cut open, the tearing of the flesh as it opens, the wiggling of the baby as it was being pulled out and how they vacummed (i think) my stomach like churning dodol in a kuali etc..No sirree i'd rather sleep n wake up to see my baby already nice n clean swaddled next to me. The pain??? Well who says childbirth is not painful, regardless of watever the procedure. But if you ask me if I would go through it again..i'd say anytime..I love babies. This pic is taken from my friend's real collection. This was how it looked like during my op.

Once upon a time...there was this old man who was a close friend of my hubby's uncle..he predicted that i will have 9 children! What a good laugh me n hubby had..was he trying to be funny or a lousy conman...

val,

why dont you blog about your 3 different c-sect experiences?

sama saja ka the sakit? coz mine, for my first baby i dont feel much pain.til i asked the nurse 'nurse, kenapa saya tidak rasa sakit after deliver?'. what i mean, yep, the stiches tu ada sakit/ngilu sikit but not THAT pain.few hours after c-sect terus boleh jalan.

itu yang plan c-sect juga for the second baby (insyallah).ada my friend till 3-4 days di katil tidak dapat bangun.different ka?

Dat will be the day Ronz! I'll belanja u makan kalu it ever happens.

E-Z: 1st time the pain not so bad, i had GA..the 2nd time epidural yg dipaksa by the Hosp. Likasn tey didnt advise me that i MUST lie down flat for at least 6 hrs so i suffered the exploding headache lah. The 3rd c-sec was the worst pain bcoz my op scar was very thin oredy n i "ikat" suda so 2 wks baru i can walk straight..i month baru the pain gone. I think becoz my preg gap is too near bah. I'm sure it's diff with each individual. Y u plan for c-sec next? Natural is best mah.

Talking about c-sec experience. Mei, likewise, if manatau tertambah satu lagi.. i will rather opt for GA. Celina was delivered thru c-sec due to prolonged labour. I wanted to go for normal with Liam.. but gynae strongly advice c-sec due to baby size & previous history. So, i tot okay la.. i go for half body anastesia. But boy oh boy.. it was the exact experience u had with nabil.. felt every tugging, pulling, movement, cuts.. to name the few.. and for the record. I didn't take up epidiural.. thinking that the half body anastesia is enough to take the pain away. The pain was unbearable.. I was put to sleep or did i faint (not sure which).. right before Liam came out of me. Initially i tot this painful experience happen to me only.. tau2 same pula our experience.

gail & val: Lucky for me, i opt for GA coz i was extremely tired/hungry/moody due to the 14 hours labor. the next thing i knew, i woke up(after 2-3hours) and saw my baby next to me. natural is best, yep but takutttt....

Epidural is a type of painkiller where they inserted a thin hollow needle on your lower spine, then once needle is remove, a caterer is connected that will automatically release an amount of anaesthesia depending. When I opt for half body anaes I was sent to the anaest. specialist a week before to explain me the whole procedure. The thing is she didn't explain to me that the half body anaes is not enough to take the pain away. Oblivious to the whole thing i said no to epidural. But I wouldn't want to take it anyway no matter what.

Hi Yanti, i got you there.. likewise, i was on 22hrs labour till we decided that we have to go for c-sec due to baby size & prolonged labour. Twas indeed exhausting going thru labour & pushing, last2 have to undergo c-sec pula. What a waste. Due to exhaustion & prolonged labour.. have to go for GA. I think same case la kita ni.

Ohh Mei.. epidural & half body anaesth are 2 different thing.

Val Aziz said...

how did they administer the half body anaest? Memang horror wen i saw the gigantic syringe, felt it poking my spine trying to locate the right spot 3 times before they found it. Never again..

Exactly the same as epidural, through the spine juga. But half body anaesth, you will only be jab once, and half your body will be paralysed. As for the epidural procedure, to allow the delivery of the epidural anaesth, the syringe is removed from the epidural needle and replaced with a catheter which passed into the epidural hole. Which means, the catherer will be placed on your back throughout the procedure. This allows continuous administration of anaest by the specialist without any further injection. The specialist will release or increase the amount of the anaesth when and is needed to your spine. This was the info i got la.. didn’t go thru it so correct me if i’m wrong.. mana si Sharon tu!! Cuba gia ko kasi explain Sharon.

i didn't really notice dat day as i didn't get any detailed explanation except that they told me i would be able to see my baby born. Berabis they coerced me even after i profusely refused. hmm anyway i think mine sounds more like half body la after ur cerita..bcoz they gassed me into lala land after i said Ouch! That was when they were trying to pull the baby out. Si Sharon can even smell her own blood kan Sharon!

Anonymous said...

U said Ouch saja kah? I cried bah..really sakit. I didn't hear it but samir told me that when i was in real pain.. my gynae told the anaest dr. 'take her down now'!! Thus, i was gassed down.

Val Aziz said...

OMG!!! Eeee horrornya! No wonder u jara suda. When they pulled out the baby sampai my body pun terikut naik, after dat yg they gassed me. I think it was epidural lah sia..i ingat lagi the needles or tubes were sticking out of my back. Until now, i don't know which doc delivered Nabil. And everytime a doc check on me they will say different n contradicting stuff..sigh..to whomever who coose to beranak at hosp likas, make sure u know somebody inside who works there, barula u will get proper attention and care..
